Die Cut Sticker Bleed: How Much Margin Should You Leave?
Updated: 2026-10-07
Why die-cut stickers need bleed
Die-cut blades never land on a mathematically perfect path. Without extra margin (bleed), tiny shifts show as white fringes or cropped art.
For stickers, bleed should follow the contour. A square safety box wastes material and does not match the cut line shoppers see in mockups.
How much margin is enough?
Printers publish different requirements. Many digital workflows start around a few pixels at web resolution or about 1–2 mm in physical print files.
If you are unsure, generate a 6px contour border with our sticker bleed tool, export, and compare against your POD template before ordering a sample pack.
Practical prep checklist
Use transparent PNG artwork with clean alpha edges.
Add contour bleed (white is common for vinyl stickers).
Keep critical text inside a safe zone away from the outer rim.
Order a small proof before bulk production.
